February 19, 1952 - October 2, 2008My friend's father was announced brain dead on Oct. 1 and dead on Oct. 2. Two weeks prior to this incident, he was up on the roof fixing things but accidentally fell down and cracked his skull. He went straight into a coma for 2 weeks but didn't make it at the end. During this two weeks, me and some others were praying hard for his life and his soul, for he has not been saved yet. The doctor said he was supposed to die on Oct. 1 because the oxygen level in his brain was too low, but then miraculously it went back up to normal after our prayer. Unfortunately, on Oct. 2 he was announced dead. The funeral was yesterday, the 9th, and the viewing ceremony with open casket was the night before that. Joe and I drove for an hour to the morgue for the viewing ceremony. We wanted to bring her father back to life. It seemed to be a perfect fit of a miracle for the situation, because most of the family members are not saved AND the father was not saved, so it would make perfect sense to bring him back to life, testify Jesus' power and how real He is, let the sign point the people to Jesus for complete salvation. However, the Lord had something else in mind. Of course, we went there in full confidence that Jesus can and will resurrect him for sure that night! As we stood in line to see him one last time, we were both praying very hard inside. When it was my turn, I went straight to the body and stood next to it. Commanding him to wake up in Jesus' Name with the resurrection power that rose Jesus from the grave. Suddenly, my BIG FAITH was cut in half... I stared at the cold and dead body, realizing how freaked out I will be if he really opened his eyes. The thing was, he looked as though he really was going to open his eyes. I was filled with fear, yet the other part of me really wanted to see Jesus perform a miracle through me. I was in a dilemma of whether or not to continue my prayer of bringing him back to life... It was at that moment, I felt the power of death pressuring me. It was to a point where I almost couldn't catch a breath, and my heart was so very heavy. I left the body, hugged my friend, her sister, and her mom, and walked outside. Hoping to pray for the body once again after the ceremony is over, I talked to my friend but her family was leaving so she couldn't do anything about it. On the way back, for the entire hour me and Joe prayed and cried out in the car pleading for His mercy and Jesus' blood to cover him, to raise him up from the dead. During the prayer, I even saw the dad sitting up from the casket, sat down on the bench in the room, confused and couldn't understand what had just happened. After I got home, I asked God for a confirmation to show me that He's with me and in agreement to what I'm trying to do. I told Him, "If You are going to resurrect him tomorrow at the funeral, let both of my hands be covered in gold dust before I sleep tonight." I got home at around 11:30pm, prayed more and finished some school stuffs. Sure enough, I randomly looked at my hands and they were filled with gold dust. Both front and back. Praise the Lord! I had the assurance and peace from God, and then I went to bed.
Next morning, we left at 9:30am for the 11am service at Rose Hill. In the morning God showed me through His still small voice, His Words, and a friend's text message the strategy to raise the dead. I was to preach the Kingdom of God, and then to back the words up with the miracle of resurrection. Most of the family members are not believers, including the deceased father. I asked my friend to see if I can have like 10 minutes to speak to the family, but didn't get that opportunity. My friend said she talked to her aunt, whom she said was like the most holy holy person in the family, and even the aunt said, "I think it's better to just let him go in peace, it's gonna be more painful to have him back and then in the future lose him again." In respect to the family, although I really wanted to just start praying and commanding the father to wake up in Jesus' Name, I didn't do so. We prayed over the body for peace and pleading Jesus' salvation to rain on him by grace, for the dead cannot plead for himself. Lord, please give him another chance, save him by Your mercy and grace. For Your love endures forever. The wonderful thing was, the mom, who was a non-believer, started going to church and praying to Jesus through this period of two weeks. Before we left, I hugged her and said simply, "God bless you." She looks as though she's gonna cry. I'm sure God is moving in a mighty way in the family right now. When there seems to be no way, God can make a way. Thank You Lord for You are always good.
My first ever raising the dead experience. It was truly something. I recognized my little faith and learned to be obedience and faithful even if the result was not what I perceived. All that mattered was He spoke, I listened and I obeyed. You all need to try it sometimes. Your eyes will be opened up and faith be lifted up. Even though it's super scary to pray for a dead body, I guess practice makes perfect. (In this case, practice enlarges our cups and increases our anointing.) Now, where're some more deads? I'm gonna go resurrect them. Call me Raiser of the Dead! HoHoHo!! Jesus rocks!
